More About Tony

Gardens Above The WavesOther photo credits include usage by/for the Friends of Shore Acres (a group of local people supporting Shore Acres State Park near Coos Bay). Some of these projects included a line of postcards, year-at-a-glance calendars, an image for an article about the park featured in the Canadian magazine Western Living (October '89), a multi-image slide presentation, and not only providing images for, but also designing and producing a 16-page souvenir booklet about the park.

1999 Southern Oregon Vacation GuideWhile most of his publication work has been for local "advertisements" (including the 1999 Southern Oregon Vacation Guide's cover image), he was the prime photographer for the book Homebuilding Basics: Carpentry by Larry Haun (Taunton Press, 1999).Homebuilding Basics: Carpentry

Other "photographic" activities include being an officer of the Oregon Coast Photographers' Association, Inc., superintendent of the Photography Department of the Coos County Fair, the coordinator of the "Your Ticket To Oregon, Juried Photography Contest & Exhibition" and gaining a knowledge of layout, pre-press and various equipment involved in offset printing by working for a local printer, among other things.

Tony has exhibited his work many times in local museums, libraries and galleries and has been shown (and received numerous awards), not only in inter and intra photography-club competition, but in national competitions such as the Oregon State Fair and the Carnegie Museum of Natural History.

Olympus OM4 - Tony's primary cameraCurrently working with 35mm transparency films and Olympus and Canon equipment, Tony favors landscapes, natural abstracts, macro and other types of photography of the outdoors/nature. The use of slide film allows him to control as much as possible in camera, so very little (if any) manipulation is required when printing. 35mm equipment also allows freedom of choice as he will at one minute be shooting a "grand landscape" and the next be shooting details of rock or flower. He is also photographing or "experimenting" with images of everyday items and "flower washes" (out of focus, or nearly so, images of flowers featuring color as the main subject that hint of being a flower). Visit the "Gallery" section to view some of his work.
